What our Artists say

Performing at WineMusic through LACM was unlike any concert experience I've ever had. For the first time, I felt that classical music wasn’t just being listened to — it was being felt and shared in real time, with genuine curiosity and connection from the audience.

What LACM has created isn’t just a concert — it’s a movement that reinvents how classical music is experienced. As a performer, it reignited my passion for programming and storytelling. I felt free to experiment, to communicate directly with the audience, and to be seen as both an artist and a collaborator.

CLASSICAL MUSIC FOR XXI audiences

LACM

LACM’s

Story

Los Angeles Classical Music Inc. (LACM) began in the wake of a world-altering time. In the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic—when people were still hesitant to gather and the performing arts were struggling to reemerge—we saw a need and an opportunity: to bring live music experiences back into people’s lives in a way that felt meaningful, welcoming, and vibrant.

Even before the pandemic, classical music had been facing a slow decline in ticket sales and waning engagement from broader audiences. The traditional concert format—formal, distant, and sometimes rigid—no longer reflected the ways people wanted to connect with art and one another.

What if classical music felt more like a listening party?
What if we could create an experience that captured the emotional intensity of live music, the communal spirit of social gatherings, and the creative intimacy that makes music unforgettable?

So we asked:

That vision became WineMusic

WineMusic pairs the expressive depth of classical music with the art and sensory richness of wine tasting, transforming the concert into a fully immersive listening experience. In this setting, music isn’t just heard—it’s felt, shared, and celebrated. By tapping into something familiar and universally appreciated—taste—we invite a diverse audience to discover classical music in a whole new way.

Without a continuous flow of performance opportunities and creative collaborations, the future for concertizing classical musicians becomes uncertain—both in terms of financial sustainability and personal fulfillment. LACM was founded to change that.

We envision a haven for entrepreneurial musicians, where innovative ideas can evolve into lasting ventures, where artistry and enterprise intersect, and where new models of success in classical performance can take root adn flourish. To advance this mission, we are launching Entrepreneurial Concertizing (EC) Ventures, our flagship mentorship program designed to support the development of artist-led concert ventures. EC Ventures provides the guidance, structure, and resources for classical musicians to transform their creative ideas into sustainable projects—empowering them to design and present performances that resonate with contemporary audiences, while building viable career pathways for the greater community of concertizing professionals.

Through immersive listening experiences, communal music events and the support of EC Ventures, we’re not only reshaping how audiences experience classical music—we’re helping artists reclaim agency over their careers and building a stronger, more joyful cultural fabric for Los Angeles.

At LACM, we believe classical music should be a living, breathing force for connection and expression. And we're here to help it thrive—for artists, for communities, and for the future.

But this mission wasn’t only about reaching audiences. It was also about rebuilding and re-imagining the creative lives of musicians themselves.

We wanted to expand the network of creativity among artists—giving performers the chance to experience the music they love in new, collaborative ways, and to share it with the public through formats that reflect their voice and values. This kind of exchange fuels their artistic passion and reignites the inertia and purpose required to cultivate their craft—not just as an art, but as a livelihood.

SUPPORT LACM

At LACM, we believe the term classical defines timeless artistry re-imagined for the now. We redefine “classical” as a living language: one shaped by iconic, experiential performances rooted in centuries of music discipline, yet fully alive in the cultural energy of today.

Our work celebrates the rigor of classical music training while embracing the boldness of LA’s creative spirit — where stagecraft meets storytelling, and performance becomes an immersive, meaningful listening experience.

Here, classical performance practice isn’t a relic — it’s a powerful asset, grounding innovation in depth, and turning cultural memory into something boldly present and unifying.

LACM is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting the entrepreneurial careers of classical musicians in Los Angeles through projects that foster interchangeable, innovative and sustainable performance opportunities.
